Meet the chef
Chef Ajith Kumar Damodaran's love of cooking began early, in his mother's kitchen in Kerala. Her family recipes taught him his first curries, and Kerala's endless range of spices and tropical vegetables sparked a lifelong curiosity.
That curiosity led him to hotel school and into professional hotel kitchens in India, and from there to kitchens around the world. He then spent more than a decade running his own restaurant businesses: eight years as owner and chef of two acclaimed pan-Indian restaurants in Los Angeles, followed by three years running Kochi Cafe, a restaurant and catering business in Melbourne.
KABO brings all of that home. Each blend is a dry curry base, with onion, ginger and spices already roasted in, then blended in small batches in Melbourne. No paste, no preservatives. Just simmer with your meat or veg for real curry in 20 minutes.
Rooted in tradition. Made for real life.
