These onion rings beats any onion rings hands down.

These aren't your average onion rings. Coated in a spiced KABO batter, they come out shatteringly crispy with a warm Indian-spice kick that makes them completely addictive. Perfect as a snack, side dish, or party starter.

What You Need

  • 2 large onions, sliced into rings
  • 1 tsp KABO Curry Masala
  • 0.5 cup plain flour (or chickpea flour for gluten-free)
  • 0.25 cup cornflour
  • Cold water to make a thick batter
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying

Method

  1. Mix flour, cornflour, KABO Curry Masala, and salt together.
  2. Add cold water gradually and whisk to a smooth, thick batter (should coat a spoon).
  3. Heat oil in a deep pan to 180°C.
  4. Dip onion rings into the batter, letting excess drip off, then lower gently into the hot oil.
  5. Fry in batches for 3–4 minutes until deep golden and crispy. Drain on paper towel.
  6. Season with extra salt and serve immediately with chutney or yoghurt dip.

Chef's Tip

Ice cold water in the batter is the secret to maximum crispiness. Don't overcrowd the pan — fry in small batches for the crunchiest result.
